Guardian Life Manager of Board Relations in New York, New York
As Manager of Board Relations, you will report directly to the Corporate Secretary and will function as the facilitating agent with respect to Guardian’s Board of Directors and the Guardian Variable Products Trust Board of Trustees.
The candidate in this role should have direct experience as a liaison to a Board of Directors, highly proficient project management skills, independent judgment, initiative, and strong relationship management skills. This role will also oversee special projects via the Office of the Corporate Secretary team.

You have
Direct experience working with Boards.
Ability to work under pressure at times and manage high risk situations.
Ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to oversee a variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion, oftentimes before or after regular work hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Experience with Microsoft office products (specifically, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) and Diligent Board.
Strong internal, external communications, organizational and people skills.
Ability to travel as required to offsite Board meetings.
You will
Be the primary facilitator to Guardian’s Board of Directors and the Guardian Variable Products Trust Board of Trustees.
Have responsibility for the filing process related to the Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure (CGAD).
Lead with discretion and confidentiality in relationships with all Board members.
Project Manager for Board of Director meetings via:
Calendar management – elevated level of attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness. In addition, create and manage the annual Board calendar processes.
Create and facilitate the agenda for review meetings, dry-run sessions, Board/Committee meetings, Board dinners and cocktails, and debriefing meetings.
Manage all aspects of Board meeting logistics.
Attend all Board meetings to manage planning as required and ensure that all meetings run smoothly.
Manage the Board of Directors communication chart and other Board-related materials to ensure that all materials remain current.
Accountable for the applicable SharePoint drives to ensure that Board-related materials are organized and easy to locate.
Project Manager for Board-related business activities of the Office of the Corporate Secretary (OCS).
Expense management for Corporate Secretary and Board members.
Oversight of the OCS budget as appropriate.
Other duties as required by the Corporate Secretary and OCS team.
Location
Hybrid: 2 days in office,3 days WFH. Preferred location – Hudson Yards, New York City
Up to 15% travel withing the US
Salary Range
$79,350.00 - $130,365.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
